Remember that recipe post last week, the silken noodles with blackened Brussels sprouts on the side? You asked, and we delivered – here is the best Brussels sprouts recipe we’ve ever come up with.
What Are Brussels Sprouts?
Brussels sprouts are a leaf vegetable related to the cabbage, broccoli, collards, and kale. They are native to the Mediterranean region, and have been cultivated in Europe for about a thousand years. They were brought to the Americas during the 1700s.
Best Brussels Sprouts Recipe
Brussels sprouts don’t get the love they deserve. Both children and adults turn up their noses as if it’s a “gross vegetable.” But the crispy, blackened edges and soft, buttery core of these sprouts brings out a sweetness and cravability like no other.
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Serves 4
Ingredients
1 bag Brussels sprouts
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
- Wash the sprouts and cut off the “root” end. Slice small sprouts in half, large sprouts in quarters
- Place the sprouts in a medium bowl. Drizzle with oil and apply seasonings. Stir until coated.
- Transfer the sprouts to the frying basket of your favorite air fryer. Set the dial to 370 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 minutes.
- Enjoy!
Tip: Brussels sprouts are also great on the grill! Get it hot, season the sprouts, and wrap them in foil. We typically grill our sprouts for about 30 minutes.
