I’m a proud plant parent. At last count, I had 25 full-time houseplants, plus a score of others that live outside in the summer but come in for the winter. But there is one thing I love more than a new houseplant – new houseplants in cute flowerpots.
When my pineapple plants needed to be divided and repotted this month, I went on a quest for the perfect flowerpot. The result? I found TONS! While I only needed two pots for my newly divided plants, I wanted to share my finds with you.
Besides, new flower pots are an excuse to buy more plants, right?

The Ultimate Pineapple Pot
Who lives in a pineapple under – well, under my roof? An actual pineapple plant, of course! This 3D-printed pineapple makes the perfect base for the green leaves of an actual pineapple plant.
If Ice Cream Grew on Trees
Following the food theme, what about a nice houseplant standing in for the soft serve in this ice cream cone? What plant would you choose? I’m thinking either a cactus or a mother-in-law’s tongue.
For the Library
I love, love, love this stackable wooden book planter. Of course, it might better be described as a planter cover, as you’ll need to provide your own pot, slipping the wooden books over it. If only there were Jane Austen titles on the side…
Plant-type Pokémon
If you ever played Pokémon as a kid, you’ll understand why Bulbasaur and Oddish make perfect cute flowerpots.
Raw Amethyst
When traveling, I love peeking into rock and fossil stores. The beautiful facets of geodes – crystals growing right in the center of a rock – is mesmerizing. These cactus pots feature raw amethyst crystals, pairing the natural beauty of the plants inside with the geological beauty of the very ground that supports them.
An Edible Garden?
This planter always makes me smile. Shaped like a Chinese takeout box, it includes a set of chopsticks you can stick into the soil to complete the illusion.

For the Photographer
Along with books, my shelves also hold a collection of old film cameras. If I’m going to grow plants inside fake books, why not in the lenses of artificial cameras, too?
Jellyfish Plants
I love air plants. That they can survive on an occasional misting astounds me. I also love the whimsy that these jellyfish air plant planters – made from urchin shells – bring to my seascape decor.
Classical Antiquity
Museums are my happy place. There is nothing I enjoy more than spending an afternoon strolling the galleries of an art museum like the MET. This 3D-printed planter based on Michelangelo’s David takes me there.
And I Can’t Resist a Cute Sloth
How did the slow-moving sloth come to be everyone’s favorite animal? Maybe it’s because we long for its peaceful idleness. At any rate, this cute, smiling sloth planter hanging in my window is a good reminder to slow down and smell the roses – or at least admire the succulents.
There are plenty more cute flowerpots where these came from. Find more gifts for her on Etsy.
One part Lois Lane, one part Jimmy Olsen, one part Johnboy Walton, and a bit of that Clark Kent secret identity thing thrown in for good measure.
