I vividly remember the first time I ever had Starbucks. I was 15 and on a field trip with my high school journalism class. I was probably the only one among us who didn’t drink coffee on the regular.

Starbucks Copycat Peppermint Mocha Recipe
Prep time: 5 minutes
Servings: 2
Peppermint Mocha Ingredients
1 1/4 cups plant-based milk (I prefer oat)
1 cup strong coffee (more to taste)
3 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
3 tbsp maple syrup
3 drops peppermint extract
Pinch of salt
Optional:
Mini marshmallows
Plant-based whipped cream
Sprinkles
Ground nutmeg
Crushed peppermint candies
Preparation
- Brew the coffee using your preferred method. Tip: I like to use coffee that’s been sitting in the French press too long. The strength of the coffee cuts the sweetness of the drink.
- Combine coffee, milk, salt, cocoa powder, and maple syrup in a saucepan over medium heat. Warm to your desired temperature, whisking constantly, about 5 minutes. Do not allow to boil.
- Pour into mugs and garnish with your favorite toppings. Enjoy!
