Sometimes, I settle for a gift card. Sometimes, I choose something off their Amazon registry. Sometimes, I even make something myself. But when I need a gift with just the right amount of uniqueness and heart, Etsy is always the way to go.
Why do I love Etsy for gifting? I find items on Etsy that I can’t find anywhere else. So for graduations, anniversaries, and other milestones, Etsy is my go-to gifting source.
I want to share some of my favorite finds in three fun gift-recipient categories: tea drinkers, houseplant lovers, and kids at heart.
Gifts for Tea Drinkers
I love tea. And I know that fellow tea drinkers are very, very enthusiastic about the teas they love.
I first discovered this when I was in high school. I was about to graduate, and I purchased gifts of appreciation for some of my favorite teachers. I selected a “World’s Best Teacher” mug and a box of Twinings tea for my chemistry teacher, who happened to be British. I was quite surprised at how taken he was with the English breakfast tea!
Earlier this year, I gifted myself a live tea plant from Etsy – a Camelia sinensis. You’ll find this plant as well as cute tea infusers in my Etsy collection Tea Garden Gift Guide.
Gifts for Houseplant Enthusiasts
I’m a millennial. One thing we millennials are known for is an affinity for houseplants.
As you’ll see from my Plant Lover’s Gift Guide, rare beauties like variegated monsteras are on my wishlist. But, since paying hundreds or even thousands of dollars for a plant cutting is way beyond my budget, I’ve included lots of affordable live plant options and even some faux variegated monstera replicas.
Gifts for Kids at Heart
I’ve said for a long time that Legos aren’t just for kids. Why? Three reasons:
- The box says ages 9 to 99.
- The set I got for anniversary last year (yes, I got Legos for my wedding anniversary) had instructions for creating a Lego record player. I think it’s really cool, but would kids even know what that is?
- Now Lego is marketing complex sets to adults!
My Legos Are for Grown-Ups, Too, Gift Guide contains my favorite a la cart Lego bricks on Etsy.
